 My family and I didn't get the chance to catch this new version of The Grinch while in theater, but I have no doubt it is amazing!  We love the story and who doesn't love Benedict Cumberbatch!? 

Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas is You on DVD!

Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas is You, the all new movie is a really great addition to this year's holiday season!  With a star studded cast of voices, mothers and daughters will fall in love with this title.   I know Ally and I sure did.   I have loved Mariah Carey's single All I want for Christmas is You for years!  It was my ringtone for many years at Christmas time.   For them to take this idea and make it into a movie, that sits perfect with me! 

The film centers on young Mariah, a little girl who dreams of getting a dog for Christmas year after year. This Christmas her dream is fueled after seeing a puppy named Princess at the local pet store. To see if she's ready for the responsibility, Mariah is tasked with dog-sitting her uncle's crazy canine Jack, who upends the family's holiday preparations with his various shenanigans.

Wild Kratts: Wild Winter Creatures! Available on DVD

My children and I have been watching Wild Kratts since they were ages 4 and 2.  We love the adventures the Kratt brothers find themselves on.  We expected no less with this title.  Popcorn was popped and the couch filled up with bodies as we sat together and enjoyed the whole thing!  My favorite part was Polar Bears Don't Dance.  I always say that our big white dog looks like a polar bear.

Martin and Chris are on a mission in the Arctic to discover just how animals move around in different environments. Spongebob Squarepants: The Complete Ninth Season Available on DVD!

Holy Cow!!!  The complete ninth season, all in one place.  The kids loved these episodes!  Super excited to have them all in one place.  

SpongeBob and friends are back underwater with the DVD release of SpongeBob SquarePants: The Complete Ninth Season, which includes over 20 episodes and three double-length episodes from the show's ninth season. SpongeBob SquarePants continues to be the most-watched animated series for the past 15 years and in this DVD, SpongeBob, Sandy, Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Krabs and Plankton are up to even more of their wet-and-wild, deep-sea dilemmas! Whether it's SpongeBob searching for a job, Squidward learning the art of kah-rah-tay or Mr. Krabs getting married (to a pile of cold-hard-cash!), the nautical nonsense is as rampant as ever!

Both Allyson and Cooper have been going crazy over this title.   Ally enjoys the Extreme Sports and Squid Baby episodes and Cooper doesn't have a favorite.  They both sit... laughing... together!  I couldn't ask for anything more as a mom.  Thank you once again, Spongebob Squarepants!

Norm of the North DVD

A special thank you to Click-Comm for sending over Norm of the North for review.  All opinions shared are my own.  

Norm of the North is my son's new obsession!  Cooper sat for the full movie and asked to watch it again after it was over.  For a 4 year old's attention span, that is amazing!  Or at least for this guy it's amazing.  I watched with him and I have to say....  Cute movie!

In Norm of the North, Norm, is a polar bear from the Arctic.  He finds himself on an adventure to save his home from humans invading.  This leads him to New York City.  Luckily he isn't alone.  He's got his lemmings friends with him to make sure the job gets done.  This big city adventure features the voices of Rob Schneider (Grown Ups), Heather Graham (The Hangover franchise) and, Ken Jeong (The Hangover and ABC’s Dr. Ken).  

With Earth Day passing recently, Norm of the North was a perfect movie to watch and discuss how we can make our world a better place.  It has a really great message about improving what we have and keeping what is already perfect!  

Ally's favorite part of the movie was in the beginning of the movie where Norm was holding a seal and was speaking to him instead of eating him!  Cooper said his favorite part was when they were traveling on the boat to NYC.  The whole movie is cute and worth a watch!

Paw Patrol: Brave Heroes Big Rescues

Paw Patrol to the rescue!  Anytime you're in trouble, just call the Paw Patrol!   That is what Cooper would like to do.  The new collection of episodes in Big Heroes, Big Rescues is out in stores today!

You can find 6 episodes, each a little different from the next on this newly released collection.  When I started the disk for the first time, Cooper asked me "Which episode is first, Mom?"  I had no idea my 4 year old paid attention to those things, but apparently he does.  He was happy to hear first up is Pups Save Jake.

The other episodes you can find are Pups Save the Parade, Pups Save a Mer-Pup, Pups Save a Friend, Pups Save a Stowaway, and Pups Bark with Dinosaurs.   While Mom's favorite episode in this collection is Pups Save a Friend, Cooper loves Pups Bark with Dinosaurs.  Putting his love of the Paw Patrol and Dinosaurs together hit him in the right spot!

Cooper's favorite part of Shimmer and Shine is when the songs start. This has been a wide spread thing for him but he really enjoys the songs!  I love music too, so I can't blame him.  Ally's favorite part are their little sidekick animals.  Very fitting for each child in the family!

Whiskers & Paws on DVD

This new collection features DVD debut episodes of Nick hits Shimmer and Shine and Fresh Beat Band of Spies.   You can also find PAW Patrol, Bubble Guppies, Dora and Friends, and Blue's Clues!  As you can tell, this collection has a little bit of everything for everyone.   Ally likes to watch Dora and Friends along with Shimmer and Shine.  Cooper wants to watch every episode.   Both children are happy here!

It is quite often that I'll find the kids playing "dogs."  They prance around on all fours, barking at each other.  This movie sparked the dog inside them like past Paw Patrol videos have.  Sitting on the couch and watching this video has been the routine for the last few days after school.  Snack time with Whiskers & Paws!

This collection has Shimmer and Shine's "Abraca-Genie", Paw Patrol's "Pups Leave Marshall Home Alone", Dora and Friends "Puppy Princess Rescue", Fresh Beat Band of Spies "Bunnies Go Bananas", Bubble Guppies "Bubble Kitty!" and Blue's Clues "Un Dia Con Plum!".   Each of these episodes can stand on their own but this collection is really great!  You finish one episode and another hit comes up.

Disney Pixar's Inside Out

I have been raving about Disney and Pixar's newest dvd release since I first saw the trailer over a year ago.  My friend Amanda sent me a link and said "You're going to want to see this movie.  Watch this."   From that moment on the movie has not been too far from my mind.

Inside Out came out on DVD/Blu-Ray Combo this week!  I could not have been more excited to share this movie with my children.  Allyson and I went with our Girl Scout troop to see the movie, but sharing it with Cooper was a nice treat in itself.  It was a really great experience to see this movie with 8 little girls and their parents.  Of course we discussed their favorite characters after it was over.  Allyson's favorite was Anger.  Anger won for her because his hair catches on fire.

We even earned a patch for discussing our emotions and actions.  It was a really great experience.  That however isn't the end of our Inside Out story.

Joy is my favorite character.  I think there is a reason for this.  She is bubbly and always trying to find the greatness in things.  Always looking for the point where the situation can be happy instead of sad, disgusting, full of fear, or even turned to pure anger.  Let's not blow our tops here.   Joy keeps everyone together until well, she gets sucked up with Sadness and thrown to the archives.  I don't want to ruin the movie for you but Joy is my hero!  She stays positive through everything and manages fix things, but not without the help of her friends!

While Joy is being awesome and positive in the movie, I am working through life like that.  I rely on my friends and try to find the happy in every situation.  Life would be boring uneventful not fun if I sat around moping in the corner every day!  So, we push forward with Joy and slap that smile on our faces, right?

Sometimes we even throw our arms in the air and act like Joy!!

If you are among the few people that have not purchased your copy of Inside Out, I urge you.. Please do so.  Share it with your children, nephew, neighbors, the random people down the street... Anyone!  Everyone should experience what goes on at Headquarters and get to know Riley.

I love this movie and think it should be in everyone's home.  Of course you have probably picked up on that from my words, but really.  Pick up Inside Out and place it under your tree this holiday season.   Your children will thank you!

Like usual, everyone in the family is a fan of the dvd for different reasons.  I like the Christmas aspect, Cooper likes the action and Allyson is a fan of Donatello in anything!  I have no doubt these three episodes will be on repeat as we get closer to the holiday!

Paw Patrol: Meet Everest on DVD

Let me paint you a little picture:  

Cooper, sitting quietly in the morning after a fun hour of playing with cars and building blocks.  He is watching Nickelodeon while I am trying to get some work at my desk. Again, all is quiet until I hear,

"Mom!!!!!!! MOM!!!!!  Paw Patrol has a new movie!  I want to watch Everest! MOM!!!!  Turn on Paw Patrol Everest!!!

With the release of Paw Patrol: Meet Everest! I have seen these episodes a few times.  The disk has been played so many times the thought that the disk might wear out crossed my mind.  That doesn't happen with DVDs, right?  My mom used to tell me that with my favorite song on cassette tape.  Anyway, you get my point!  Big Fans Here!

If you prefer to know what you're getting into before purchasing this awesome DVD for your Little, check out the list of episodes below.  Cooper's favorite is Pups and the Big Freeze.  He likes to watch them rescue on the ice and snow. 

PAW Patrol: Meet Everest! includes the following episodes:

• Pups Save the Deer- When a family of deer gets separated on slippery ice and a snowy hill, it's up to Zuma and Everest to lead an icy rescue to reunite them!
• Pups Make A Splash- When Cap'n Turbot's boat runs aground, Ryder, Zuma, Skye, and Rocky must team up to save it before it sinks!
• Pups Save A School Day- Alex loses his back pack on the first day of school! Ryder and the Paw Patrol need to help him find it before the school bus comes.
• Pups and the Trouble with Turtles- Tons of Baby Turtles start to pop up all over town and it's up to Ryder and the Pups to corral them all and get them back to their pond.
• Pups Save A Flying Frog- Marshall's new pet frog, Smiley, is going to be in a jumping contest! The only problem is that during a practice run Smiley jumps right into Skye's helicopter and it takes off! Now Skye and the Pups have to save Smiley, and get him to the competition in time!

Nickelodeon Favorites: Puppy Palooza! on DVD

In celebration of National Dog Day, I am so excited to bring you Nickelodeon's PAWsome collection of episodes!  It is no secret that we are fans of pups around here.  Lilly and Danny our dogs would tell you just how much love they receive on a daily basis.  Then there is also the little human acting as a dog on occasion.  "Good Morning, Puppy" is often spoken when I first see Cooper in the morning.  Puppies on the TV and Puppies watching the TV... Never a dull moment around here!

I absolutely love when Nickelodeon puts a collection together like this.  PAW Patrol and Blue's Clues on one DVD!  They sure know how to do pups!  You can find the following episodes on the Puppy Palooza DVD.  

• PAW Patrol: Pups Save A Super Pup/Pups Save Ryder's Robot - Rubble is pretending to be a super pup, but when he gets himself in trouble, it's up to Ryder and the PAW Patrol to save Rubble! / When Ryder's Robot Pup breaks and starts going wild around Adventure Bay, it takes the whole PAW Patrol to help Ryder find it.
• Bubble Guppies: Bubble Puppy! - Sit!  Stay!  Fetch!  Gil wants to adopt a puppy, but the Bubble Guppies have to learn how to take care of a pet before he can bring the little guy home.
• Dora The Explorer: Puppies Galore - Dora, Boots, Benny and a stroller full of rambunctious puppies rush to save their puppy friend, Little Boots, before he wakes up a bear.
• Team Umizoomi: Buster the Lost Dog - Milli, Geo and Bot are playing in the park with their friend Anna and her adorable dog Buster.  When a game of fetch goes awry, Buster accidentally jumps into the back of a truck that carries him far, far away...to a construction site!  To rescue Buster, the team must use their mighty-math skills to find Buster and reunite him with Anna.
• Blue's Clues: Magenta Comes Over - Blue has a playdate with her best friend Magenta. We play Blue's Clues to determine what Blue wants to do when Magenta comes over.  In addition to finding Blue's Clues, we identify and categorize footprints in the backyard with Shovel and Pail, explore the concept of opposites with Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper, and help the Felt Friends pick out costumes by making associations.
• Mutt & Stuff - In this half-hour special, Calvin's dad (Cesar Millan, original star of The Dog Whisperer) hands him the keys to Mutt & Stuff and makes him in charge of the only school on the planet just for dogs!  Calvin's job to make sure all the dogs get a bubble bath before the Dynamo Doggy Frisbee Festival. When lovable 6-foot-tall fuzzy dog Stuff gets too excited around the newest puppy, the little pup gets scared and won't get in the tub. Calvin helps Stuff learn a valuable lesson about acting calm around a puppy so it feels safe when it's trying something new. Get ready for mounds of messy bubbles, heartfelt moments, unbelievable Frisbee tricks, a dog-themed dance party, and lots of slapstick doggy silliness! It's all just a typical day at Mutt & Stuff!
