Manners, Manners, Let's Learn Some Manners!

Disclosure: I received one or more products in this post in exchange of an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I have two Littles in my home.  I've introduced them many times and they even help me complete the posts you may have seen on my site.  They are awesome little helpers, but at times we forget manners.  A simple "Thank You" will take you miles, but when you forget to say those two little words, it speaks volumes for you, your parents and your upbringing.  As I don't want my children to ever forget to say their manners, I work my Mommy Booty off to remind them of their manners.  It seems to be working so I thought I'd share a few tips for you as well!
  • Manners Jars: Label 2 jars.  One with "Good Manners" and the other "Bad Manners."  Write consequences on slips of paper and put them in the "Bad" jar.  Fill the "Good" with fun activities or candies.  If your child is behaving badly and not using their manners, have them pull a slip from the "Bad" jar.  These slips could be anything from sit in Time-Out, Sweep the Floor or explain why you should be using manners.
  • The Berenstain Bear's Please & Thank You Book:  In Please & Thank You Book, Mama Bear is baking cookies.  All three bears come in and start hollering "I want a cookie!"  Mama Bear knows she didn't raise her bears to act this way so she reminds them of their manners. After discussing the magic word, the bears change their tune a little and earn a cookie with their manners.  Check out the book for a little more in the story.

After reading The Berenstain Bears' book with both Allyson and Cooper they started using their manners a little more.  I could not be happier with the result!  Now that Ally is able to read by herself, she has pulled this book out a few times.  It's a great reminder!
