Enjoying a nice treat with Sun Cups -- Sun Cups Review

My favorite candy bar is a Peanut Butter Cup.  Ever since I was a little girl my mom would buy them in the miniature form and we'd eat the whole bag!  Oh how I loved them!  I haven't had too many in the last few months, so when I was given a chance to bring you Sun Cups, I got super excited!

In 2008, a man knocked on the door at Seth Ellis Chocolates with a jar of sunflower butter and a challenge: create a candy cup his peanut-allergic son could eat. The chocolatiers got to work, inspired by the idea of a peanut butter cup for everyone. A jar of sunflower butter, a handful of test batches and a day later, they had cracked the code. Sun Cups were born.
Being a peanut butter cup for everyone is no small task. It calls for unseen levels of nut-free, gluten-free, Certified Kosher deliciousness. And being the overachievers they are, the chocolatiers also made their creation all natural, using cacao from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms. That means the chocolate in Sun Cups comes from farms that look out for their workers and the planet. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

Sun Cups come in 4 varieties: Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate Mint and Milk Chocolate Caramel.  While these cups are made with sunflower butter, I think I am in love!

The Dark Chocolate Mint is perfect for the colder weather and holidays! I love products like peppermint patties and this one fits right in with that category!  Give me chocolate and mint any day!

Milk Chocolate Sunflower Butter Cups are super yummy!  The sunflower butter was very moist and very flavorful!  You can taste the sunflower butter, but it isn't overpowering.  These have a great marriage!

Ooey-Gooey Caramel Cups are so creamy!  When you take a bite of this deliciousness, be aware there may be some caramel on your chin!  The caramel isn't super sweet either.  It complements the milk chocolate perfectly!

My favorite flavor is the Dark Chocolate.  It wasn't a dry chocolate like you sometimes find with a dark chocolate.  The Sunflower Butter complements the dark chocolate very well!

To get your taste of these delicious Sun Cups, look them up online or on social media!

  1. Hmmm - I am a HUGE Reese's Peanut Butter Cup junkie (I'm BAD), so I would love a little bit of a healthier alternative....I suppose ;)

  3. You know, you're right, sometimes dark chocolate is very dry (delicious nonetheless, but I like it better when it's not dry). Thank you for sharing a product that's brand new to me!!

  6. I used to use sun butter instead of peanut butter, but now I use Almond or Cashew butter... Those are still in the nut family though.
