Sharing our Thanksgiving with The Tender Filet -- The Tender Filet Review

Every year at Thanksgiving I go back and forth with should I make a turkey?  Should I make a ham?  Should I make both?  My husband is a ham eater, but I love turkey!  When I was offered the chance to work with The Tender Filet, I had to jump on it!  They asked me to try out their Honey Glazed Spiral Sliced Ham, so obviously we did ham and turkey this year!

When your purchase from The Tender Filet arrives at your door, you have the option of freezing right away or storing in your refrigerator for up to 7 days.  As we were saving our ham for Thanksgiving, I packing it according to the directions and set it safe in the freezer.  As you can see, our ham was just over 5 pounds.  I set it in the refrigerator on Monday to make sure we were thaw and ready to go for Thursday!

Taking the ham out of the packaging is rather easy.  It is double wrapped to contain the extra juices.  The wraps were not stuck to the ham in any way.

So after I unwrapped our ham, it was ready to go into the oven.  I did wrap it in foil to ensure there wouldn't be a problem with drying out.  I cooked the ham for about 35 minutes at 350 degrees.  My thermometer alerted me of the internal temperature at 143 degrees when I pulled the ham out.

As you can see, the meat was falling over, so ready to be on my plate!  The slices came off the bone very easily. Honey glaze caramelized perfectly and so sweet!  I like my ham a little sweet and smokey.  This ham was just that!  Lucky for me I have left overs for sandwiches and meals coming in the next couple of days!  I'm so excited!

We will be giving away a similar ham to a reader soon!  Watch for the giveaway!  In the meantime, check out The Tender Filet on their website and on social media!

  6. That ham looks really good! Being single I would have to buy a much smaller one or end up eating it for a couple of months! Of course my cat loves ham so maybe not that long.

  12. This ham looks so delicious. I love that it is glazed and that it doesn't have a lot of fat. I could see using this well after the holidays to make sandwiches and add to other dishes.
