Life is Just Better with Bacon! - Baconery Review

Life is Just Better with Bacon! -  Baconery Cafe Review

The new rave is BACON!!  Bacon on donuts, bacon wrapped chicken, I even just heard about bacon being given out at a basketball game coming up this week!  Now, THAT is crazy.  But I assure you....  The taste of bacon is not crazy!  I love bacon!  My husband loves bacon! My children love bacon!  Don't you just love bacon?

On Columbus Avenue in New York City you will find a door labeled with the company name of Baconery Cafe.  I want to share what they have to say for themselves on their menu and website:
Salt & Sugar. Um...really!?  Two ingredients that make everything taste like heaven in your mouth. Apart, these ingredients represent a delicious cornucopia of different tastes but together they create an explosive flavor that is seldom rivaled in the food world.  Everyone has talked about it.  People have dreamed about it.  Most were afraid to put them together.  It's a secret, twisted fantasy that everyone hides their love for.  And now it's a reality.  Bacon meets Bakery.  Their love child: Baconery.

Doesn't that just about sum it all up for you?  Who wouldn't want to try the deliciousness that has come from a marriage between bacon and bakery?  My mouth watered the moment I knew what was in our delivery from Baconery.  Then opening the packaging?  The smell, the taste, Delicious!

Baconery gave us the opportunity to try out a few brownies, cookies, a pecan pie, bacon soap and salt. You read that right.. Bacon Soap.  I have a funny story to tell you about this soap....  When I opened the box and I was sorting through our goodies, I was staring at this block of soap wondering what it was.  I didn't think about soap being made from bacon, so I licked it.  Yummy soap, anyone? Not so yummy to my tongue!  I pulled it away from my face and asked my husband, "Do you think this is soap?" and his reply, "People will eat anything these days if it has bacon in it!"  Now of course Baconery doesn't expect you to eat their bacon soap.. But the rest of their products, you go right ahead!

Just look at the yumminess that is screaming at you out of these pictures!  My favorite product was the Bacon Pecan Pie.  You can see it is a run-of-the-mill normal looking pecan pie, but once you bite in, there are pieces of bacon waiting for you inside the sweet creamy goods right under those pecans!  This pie made me yearn for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Good thing for me, its just around the corner!

If you are able to stop by the Baconery Cafe, you will notice their menu is pretty extensive!  They can offer you Baked Goods (Pecan Pie, Cookies, Macaroons), Chocolate Desserts (Chocolate Bacon, Cake Balls, Pretzel Rods), Candies (Lollipops, Caramels), Snacks (Bacon Mac& Cheese, Thick Cut Bacon, Dog Biscuits), Sandwiches (Porky Pig, Miss Piggy, Squealer, Elvis, Gordy, etc), Beverages (Bacon Hot Chocolate, Coconut Water, Fanta, etc), and even Bacon Merchandise (Cutting Board, Bacon Spatula, Bacon Soap, etc.)!  I know when my family finally gets our trip settled to NYC, I will be adding the Baconery Cafe on the list of stops! If you aren't able to make the trip to NYC any time soon, I don't want you to worry.  You can still order online!  So, check out Baconery Cafe on their website and social media outlets!

  3. I don't live far from NYC and I sure know where Columbus Ave is! Maybe I will drive down there (I know slightly crazy lady here but I hate trains and subways at this advanced age) and walk into that Baconery Cafe and see if I like what they offer!
