Blocking the Nasty with musicBleeper -- Review and Giveaway

Disclosure:  I was compensated for this post.  However, all opinions are honest and my own.

I have found my new favorite app!  If I could I'd shout from the rooftops for everyone to get this app on their devices.  The name is fun, the functionality of the app is brilliant, it really is an app that anyone who loves music should have!  Oh, you want to know what it's called so you can download it right away?  Keep reading!

MusicBleeper is the very app I am raving about.  Occasionally I like to listen to a hip hop song or 2 that may contain lyrics that my 5 yr old and 3 yr old do not need to hear.  It seems these days it is so hard to shield them from all of the nasty in the world, so falling in love with musicBleeper has been a wonderful thing!  Let me tell you a little bit more....

musicBleeper is a censorship app that allows you to personally control the words you feel are inappropriate in your music. Now you can relax and listen to music with your children without being embarrassed or worried about profanity or inappropriate language.

musicBleeper contains 91 words in PG-13, R and Religious-rated categories that you can eliminate based on your children's ages, or even your own religious affiliations, personal morals or family values. You choose the words you want to skip or silence.

musicBleeper is password protected, so you can set the words you want eliminated, and no one can change them. The app can also be turned on and off, so you can listen to the regular version when you'd like.

Best of all, musicBleeper is free. Your music. Your way.

As a Mom that has always loved music, it is important to share music with my children.  Sure, we sing songs together, but mainstream music is important too! So many styles, and now we can listen to all of them without worry!

There are so many things to enjoy about this app.  I love that my children cannot change the settings. The app is password protected, so I don't have to worry about my son jamming on the buttons and accidentally changing the settings.  I've had to unlock my phone with my computer so many times, just to gain access, but he can't mess up this app!  Also, I find this app very easy to use.  You sign in, set the settings how you prefer them, and use the app.  You can choose for the app to silence the word or skip it.  I felt the silence was better for my phone.  It sounded smoother.  Nobody wants choppy music after all!

If you are looking for an app to help your children stay young a little longer, this might just be the one for you!  You control everything about it.  It's simply Your Music. Your Way.

  1. That is a neat idea. I always bought Kidz Bop cd's because the lyrics were safe, but it was the same music I liked to listen to.

  2. Wow that is a cool app. With today's music it is so needed.

  3. I love that it can be set up kid friendly.

  4. That I can listen to music and if there are bad words I can block them so my daughter can't hear them

  5. This is especially helpful for those who have children. Wish it worked for tv shows too.

  6. That is a seriously great idea and will come in so handy for parents.

  7. I haven't heard of this app, but I could so USE IT! No kiddos in my home, but when I listen to music at work, I have to very carefully choose the station because even the most conservative stations believe some words are okay.

  8. That is pretty cool for parents who need that feature. There are some things we don't really shield kiddo from and curse words are one of them. She knows they are bad and that she shouldn't say them. She knows what the consequences of that are. My mom was pretty relaxed. She was a 'make your choices learn from your own mistakes' kind of person. When I was about 15 and we were shopping I let 'sh!t' slip and she just laughed at me. I said I was sorry and moved on. I think honestly it's all in how we raise our children.

  9. How cool is this for concerned parents! This would definitely make listening to music around kids a lot less stressful.

  10. What an interesting sounding product - I don't have any ears I need to protect but if I did I would certainly think about buying it. x

  11. Oh I have never heard of this before. Sounds like an app I need to get on my 11 yo's phone as I hate him having those types of songs and it's hard for me to make sure ALL are clear!

  12. I think this is something a parent would like for their children.

  13. This sounds awesome! I love that it is password protected!

  14. Okay, this is brilliant! I don't have kids, so I don't pay TOO much attention to lyrics...except the other day I was watching a friend's 5-year old and I had to change the channel quickly as I was driving along. Thank goodness I was quick enough...I can only imagine how helpful Music Bleeper would be, though!

  15. I don't like censoring the things that my kiddo listens to. I don't see a point. He knows that they are bad words, but he's going to hear them while on the bus, or elsewhere so there isn't a point in my saying no don't listen to them here, but you might here them elsewhere.

  16. This is great. I was just saying to my husband that I always have to censor the songs that I play in the car.

  17. Wow! That's cool. I'm always fascinated because I listen to a podcast with a potty mouth and everyone looks at me strange when I say, it's no better than what they play on the radio. So, I play a few songs and sure enough, except the f** word, all the other words are there in abundance, it seems. This sounds like a great app! I could certainly use a gift card too!

  18. This must be for the really good parents. I see so many parents that listen to this type of music and I'm not sure that they would even think anything is wrong with their children listening to it. Love that there are apps like this.

  19. Now if we could somehow get an app that blocks the violence of some of today's music..I hate the way women are referred to in so much of it.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I love the Unsafe Words Screen so that you can monitor what the kids hear on it!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I like that you can turn the app on and off. :)

  26. That is very good to protect young ears. We like to listen to His radio and KLove. They have listen online options as well and there are never any cuss words! :)

  27. This a excellent idea. Today's music can have some inappropriate language, this is a great way to be able to listen to your favorites without worrying.

    ReplyDelete
  28. This is SO perfect! We have a separate playlist we listen to when the kids are around for this exact reason.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I like that you can block inappropriate language in songs because a lot of songs now use words that children don't need to hear.

    ReplyDelete
  34. It's about time someone came up with this idea! Even though my kids are smart enough to leave the bad words out, I'd rather them not hear them in the first place.

    ReplyDelete
  35. What a great, much needed app! I know my kids will eventually get exposed to all the bad but it's so important to me that they aren't exposed to anything they aren't ready to have a mature conversation about or understand why it's "off limits"!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I like that it is password protected. Bethhoppe@hotmail.com

  37. I think our children hear so much bad language, they don't even know how immature it makes them sound to use it. it's disrespectful to hear the bad language. this would be a great app.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Love that you can bleep out the bad words while kids are listening. That is awesome! Also that it is password protected.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I love that it's password protected for parents.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I love that you can filter out the profanity and still listen to the songs you like!

  45. This app is amazing! This would come in handy with my 5 year old who loves to listen to music. I love that the app "contains 91 words in PG-13, R and Religious-rated categories " the added plus is that it's password protected so she can't get in there and change the settings.

  48. that you can control content

    ReplyDelete
  49. It is nice to know that someone created an app like this. I love the password protect feature.

    ReplyDelete
  50. My kids are pre-teen and teen age so they are listening to music more and it would nice to use this to keep the bad words out of the music they like.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Would love this! I've always loved hip-hop/rap beats and rythym but not so much the lyrics... this would be great. My son also loves dancing and would love for him to experience more types of music without the inappropriate/profane lyrics.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I like that it's password protected, so you can set the words you want eliminated, and no one can change them.

    ReplyDelete
  53. This is great! My three year old repeats everything right now so it would be handy so we could listen to whatever we wanted, worry free.
