Our Afternoon at Hershey's Chocolate World

When you hear there is a place to see Santa's House made of chocolate, you get in the car and drive. You can find such a house at Hershey's Chocolate World in Hershey, Pennsylvania.  Lucky for me, Hershey, PA is about 15 miles down the road from my house!  I love chocolate (even though I can't eat it anymore) and I love Christmas.  These two things together make for happiness!

The kids and I loaded up the car for our short drive to Hershey in hopes that we would have an uneventful drive.  Aside from Ally demanding her window be down while the temperature was 33 degrees out, we had no issues.  Thank goodness for window locks!

The drive into Hershey, PA is a pretty one!  We have snow on the ground right now and it just added to the magical Christmas feel that I love so much deep in my heart.
Just like many towns, Hershey has cute banners on their light posts, but this trip to Hershey I noticed something I missed on previous trips.  The lights are shaped like Hershey Kisses!

Aren't those just cute!?  I knew you'd love them!

Walking into Hershey's Chocolate World always gets Ally really excited!  She sees the Reese's Cup guy and his friends dancing up there on top of the building and she gets a big smile on her face!  I am so thankful to the lady that offered to shoot a picture of the three of us before we went in!

Inside the building I was immediately attracted to the beautiful Christmas Tree!  A Christmas Tree is such a great symbol of our holiday and Hershey did theirs up right!  I could have stared at that thing for hours!

Cooper wasn't a big fan of posing for the camera today, but I got him to be in a few pictures.  As you can see Ally was trying to get him to look at Momma with the camera..  No such luck in this one!

After looking at the pretty tree, we decided to ride Hershey's Great American Chocolate Tour!  This little ride is a good way to relax and learn a little about how a Hershey candy bar is made.  They start you with the cocoa bean and take you all the way to the wrapper!  Plus they have some really fun diary cows to help with the story!

We managed a little shopping and even had a little fun over at the pretty waterfall  after we saw the Chocolate Tour twice.  Oh, did I tell you that they give you a piece of chocolate after your tour?  Today they were giving out little bags of Rolos.  Yumm!  Back to this waterfall I want to tell you about..  You can throw money in it.  Have you ever wondered where the money that you throw in the water fountain goes?  At Hershey's Chocolate World you don't have to wonder too far.....

At the beginning of this post, I told you we went there to see a house made of chocolate!  I wasn't sure what to expect, this being the first Christmas Season we have lived in Pennsylvania, but I was pleasantly surprised!  This house was made of Hershey chocolate bars, Hershey Kisses, Hershey Drops, and Twizzlers.  Oh, the fun one could have if they were given the job to eat that house!  The house was is big enough for you to stand inside, but there will not be any living in this house!  Santa has a pretty tree on display that you can see through the window made of chocolate, but not much else inside.

To end our day at Hershey's Chocolate World, we like to ride the Chocolate Tour again.  There weren't many people wanting to ride through the tour today so we rode this thing 4 more times.  Oh My Gosh, the knowledge....  By the end of the fun, Ally and I decided it was time to take silly pictures!  So, after silly pictures and singing cows, we got our Rolos and made the short trip home.

I love Hershey's Chocolate World.  I know this will be a trip we make every few months, simply because we can!

  1. Hershey's World looks like so much fun! My kids would love going there, I know I would as well. Do they pump chocolate fragrance into the air?
