Premium Brewing with Cocoa Joe
Some people see Hot Cocoa as a child's beverage. Some people see Coffee as an adult's beverage. I personally love a good Mocha! Just mix me up some chocolate in my coffee and I'm sold! However, I do love to try new beverages when I get the chance. Cocoa Joe gave me such a chance.
Cocoa Joe was founded on such a wonderful story. "I first heard of ‘Brewing Cocoa’ just before Christmas of 2011 – My brother mentioned they were using the product per a suggestion from their son’s tutor… He had learned that the Theobromine in Brewing Cocoa was an alternative to Ritalin in ADD/ADHD treatment – not a cure, but a viable alternative to drugging their child. On top of that, my brother said that it just plain tasted great!
So began my research in to the Brewing Cocoa industry… and so began my love affair with Theobrama Cacao!" You can finish reading the rest of the story HERE. This story touched my heart. I grew up dealing with siblings with ADD/ADHD and know all too well how it can effect a family. If only my parents would have had Cocoa Joe to help out, we may have been a much calmer family!
It is important to know that Cocoa Joe is not your typical Hot Cocoa product. You brew your Cocoa Joe directly from little pieces of cocoa beans. Here, I'll show you...
While these little pieces of cocoa beans may smell delicious, you should remember they aren't going to taste like chocolate. They'll be more bitter than any chocolate we are used to eating.
When it comes to brewing up your Cocoa Joe, you have a few different options. You can try the Mayan Method, French Press, Tea Strainer, Peculator, and a Drip Coffee Maker. I personally chose to use my drip coffee maker. If you're not sure on exact directions, their website has you covered!
When it finished brewing, my Cocoa Joe came out looking a little like tea. I added a little creamer and sugar and went about my day. I was given the opportunity to try the Venezuelan CUMBOTO and the Ghana flavors. The Ghana was my favorite of the two. To find out which flavor works best for you, look up Cocoa Joe on their website and on social media!

I have tried this and I am not to sure about it! I mean it sounds good, but when I made it, it was just a little out there for me!
ReplyDeleteNow that IS something different. I am a big coffee drinker and I definitely love hot chocolate, so I think I have to at least try this and see how I like it. I bet I will :)
ReplyDeleteI have never tried it, but it does look like tea. I would give it a try to see if I liked it though. I am pretty much known to try anything. once.... sometimes twice.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like something I might really like-I am a coffee drinker and I do love hot chocolate--will have to think about it and find out about the sugar content in the cocoa
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting sounding product - I'm not normally a coffee fan but I would quite like to give this a whirl I have to admit x
ReplyDeleteI bet that is an amazing cup of cocoa. I would love to try it, my boys are always up for cocoa so I will definitely check them out.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried brewing chocolate before, but it looks like tea to me too.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting concept here. I do love hot cocoa, but I usually need it to be very creamy. This looks a little watery, but hey, I'm game for trying it sometime!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds weird, but great at the same time. I will definitely have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen cocoa like this. Might be worth trying though.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really interesting idea, not sure how I feel about brewing cocoa
ReplyDeletethis looks awesome. i love a mocha but this loooks even better and easy to do (and cheaper than the coffee shop!)
ReplyDeleteI didn't even know that was possible! I'm fascinated and really want to try it!
ReplyDeleteWow, interesting I've never seen nor heard about this. How fun and new! Be worth a try
ReplyDeleteYum! Fresh coffee are always the best!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love hot cocoa, so I think I would really enjoy this! I had never heard of this brand before. I will have to try to find them. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a different twist than what most of us are use to drinking when we think of Hot Chocolate. I think I would love to try this and check it out for myself.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea that there were so many variations of hot cocoa. This is exactly what I need tonight to curl up with a good book to after the long work week I've had.
ReplyDeleteI love both coffee and hot chocolate - this looks a little light, but might be worth a try.
ReplyDeleteYum!! My daughter would love this! I was planning on giving her a bunch of coffee/tea/cocoa stuff in a basket :)
ReplyDeleteI have heard many times over that coffee helps with ADD. I have yet to really try it, but I can see where it would help because when I drink Mountain Dew it helps me to stay focused better. In fact it worked so well that my employees would literally get me Mountain Dew when they knew we were about to be slammed.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a product that is definitely worth trying especially in our household.Thank you for this review.
My husband is a coffee nut. He would love this!
ReplyDeleteThis looks so good. Please send to me!
