Everyone, Chester... Chester, Everyone!

We have another family member that isn't talked about much.  This little guy brings joy to my daughter's face.  He STINKS!  But she loves him, so I clean his cage, feed him, get up after I've already laid down at night to make sure he has water...  You know the drill!

So,  Everyone......... Meet Chester!

This little hamster has somehow lived through being squeezed, thrown, and standing nose to nose with an 85 lb dog. We picked Chester up from PetCo after the two Robo Hamsters that her aunt Kelli gave her had passed.  She picked this guy for a replacement.  No tears, but lots of smiles after we brought him home.

A few fun tidbits about our littlest family member:
  • He will ALWAYS poop on my Husband!  It never fails... If Husband is holding him, he'll poop!
  • He has only bitten one person.  She wouldn't leave him alone..  I guess he was protecting himself?
  • He is deathly afraid of Cooper.  I would be too if a little 2 yr old Monster squeezed me until my eyes balls were ready to pop out of my head!
  • Chester is about 2 1/2 yrs old.
  • He is very sweet!
Do you have a little guy like this?  I'd love to hear about it!

  1. Awww the last time I had one of these guys I was in 9th grade. Sadly the momma killed the daddy after she gave birth to her babies and then killed her babies and then she died.

  3. We have one too! His name is Rod (short for rodent) but B calls him dude. Mainly because I just call him dude lol! He's been awesome, even with the slight squeezing and a little too close to comfort with the dogs...we handled him in the store and he was so good with her I had to take him! He's awesome. I haven't had one since I was in middle school, so this was a fun little addition! I have no idea how old he is.

  5. What a cutie! I used to have a sweet, little bunny who was also terrified of my younger sister. He loved being around my mom though, which is ironic since my mom hated him. Often she would wake up to see him on the pillow next to her face. haha

  7. Chester is too cute! I wouldn't mind having one if I didn't have three cats.

  8. I have never had a hamster. Out of curiosity how does your dog react to him? Some dogs will protect anything smaller then them--others--well. Can't blame the little guy for being afraid of your 2 1/2 year old--I would be too if that was done to me.

    1. The dogs just go up and smell him, but leave him alone afterward. I don't know that my dogs are normal though.. They are afraid of cats!

  10. Awww Hi Chester! My old hamster Artie would always bite Ash but never me - he would seek out skin just to take a chomp of - we came to the conclusion he tasted of junk food as he ate so much lol x

  11. I do not have a hamster though he is really adorable. We never really had a pet growing up. Come to think of it, I think only one of my friends had a dog. They were forced to take it when an aunt moved out of the country.

  12. He is cute, we do not have any rodents like that. The last one we had was a constant biter, we were outside and he was running on a table while I washed out his cage and a Hawk came and grabbed him. After that experience my son did not want another one.
