Hamilton Beach Half Pint Soft-Serve Ice Cream Maker Review

I was not compensated for this review.  All opinions are my own.

If you should know anything about me, its that I am a lover of my family and a lover of ice cream!

I've been searching for the right deal on an ice cream maker for a while now, probably since we moved to Pennsylvania.  Fun activities to do with the kids have been on my mind 95% of the time and I always thought making our own ice cream would be a great time!

Inside my searches for a great Ice Cream Maker I ran across the Hamilton Beach Half Pint Soft-Serve Maker on Amazon.com.  It was priced at just over $25, so of course this piqued my interest.  What surprised me even more was when I found this same maker as I was wandering though my local Target this week!  Even better, it was on Clearance!!  Of course I jumped on the opportunity to own this little piece of mechanical heaven!

Initially I brought home a blue one.  After getting the maker ready to make delicious sorbet, I noticed we were missing an important piece... the mixing paddle!  So, I packed everything back up, stole the husband's car and traded in the blue for a pink model! (The blue color was gone, but I think I would have chosen pink initially if they had been on the shelf!)

Finally, Ally and I got to work making our sorbet!  The recipe we decided on was a Pinterest find.  You can find it here, but be advised the website is in French.  You'll need to translate it!  http://www.lacuisinedenathalie.com/article-sorbet-a-la-fraise-recette-facile-118302093.html

We chopped strawberries, squeezed lemons and mixed up our yummies in the magic bullet!  Then let our mixture sit in the refrigerator to chill, per the instructions of course! Then it was time!!!  Ally was so excited!  You would have thought we were going to buy her a pony she was so excited to see our maker get to work..

It was pretty easy to get going..  Just pour our chilled mixture into the frozen bowl and turn the maker on.  Wait 5-15 minutes (per the directions) and voila!  We let ours turn for about 12 minutes before turning the maker off.  It was a thick consistency and quite the yummy flavor!

I even got the approval of the little guy!

I really enjoyed this Ice Cream Maker.  It is the perfect size for a quick treat for the night for yourself or to share.  I think I'll try a chocolate chip next time!
